We reach over 10,000 students every year in schools throughout the Front Range, with an emphasis in the 7 counties of the Greater Denver area. Our programs employ dance to empower youth and gain the tools to express themselves, communicate with others, problem-solve through improvisational thinking, take artistic risks, and engage in interdisciplinary learning experiences with historical and cultural studies.
CMDance offers workshops, extended dance programs, school assemblies, and all-day programs during and after school. Our network of instructors represent a variety of dance styles and cultures, and offer instruction to all ages at all levels. Our program managers work with the local community to ensure that dance teams in different schools have a performance opportunity to showcase what they learn with us.
All of our instructors who work with Early Childhood through High School students use trauma-informed practices in their curricula and teaching, and work with all types of students, regardless of disability; everyone can dance! We have a deafblind intervener specialist fluent in American Sign Language on staff to support students with vision loss and/or Deaf and hard of hearing. We have instructors trained to work with children and adults with special needs or limited mobility, and work closely with school partners and their resource staff to provide accommodations for students as necessary based off of their IEPs, etc., to give students the highest quality of dance education possible. We also have multiple staff that are bilingual in languages such as Spanish and French to reduce language barriers during instruction.

Music and Dance Assemblies
Music and/or dance school assemblies are scheduled with administrators at your school to expose students to different types of music and/or dancing, including cultural and historical context of the music and dance. Assemblies are interactive with students, and often an event that students look forward to attending (can be used as student incentive assemblies, etc.)
Workshops and Residencies
One of our highly-trained dance instructors offers a one-day workshop or residency over the course of multiple classes throughout weeks, months, semesters, or the school year.
Dance instructors are available in a wide variety of dance styles focused on vernacular dance of North and South America, including partner dance such as swing, salsa, bachata, cumbia, merengue, blues, ballroom, Argentine tango, and solo dances such as African dance, hip hop, vernacular jazz, Latin-hip hop fusion, ballet, and many more.
Choreography for Student Performances
One of our highly-trained dance instructors in a dance style chosen by your school or your students choreographs a custom dance piece. They will work with your students over a number of classes to prepare them for a performance opportunity. Performance opportunities may be internally coordinated by your school or externally coordinated by CMDance.
